About Us
The Timber Valley SKP RV Park is a 206 unit 55+ RV Co-op affiliated with the Escapees RV Club. Each member of the co-op holds a lifetime lease on a large RV lot. When a member is not in the park, that lot can be put into the rental pool so that visiting Escapees members may rent an available lot by the day, week, or month.Search This Website

A Thank You from Jackie Deal
By Jackie Deal Thank you is inadequate: for the wonderful roast (I’m still trying to get the burned smell out of my hair.) Yes, Friday afternoon was the long anticipated, and dreaded “roast” for a dearly departed soul. (In case … Continue reading
Math Is Not My Forte
By Jackie Deal Math is not my forte. It’s not my one-two-threete either. You can call it arithmetic like we did in grade school but it’s the same ole thing. Once upon a time I knew my multiplication tables; since … Continue reading
Sutherlin Light Parade
by Jackie Deal “It’s a rat! A rat!” The kid’s voices shrieked shrilly as they chased the wretched little rodent. It was during the Christmas Light Parade on Central Avenue; a stretch of solid buildings: no alley, no crack, not … Continue reading
The Missing Missplaced Missmatched Mittens
By Jackie Deal It happens every year. I end the season with unmatched gloves. Really, they’re gloves but for the sake of alliteration mittens sounded better. A couple years ago it was one red and one blue glove. The next … Continue reading
All that Glimmers is not Gold
All that glimmers is not gold. Actually that’s derived from a Wm. Shakespeare line “All that glisters is not gold.” There may not be many golden “glisters” in daily life, but how about small “glimmers”? Little tiny moments of joy. … Continue reading
Eisenhower’s Matrix
by Jackie Deal What would Amber say? Amber is my black and white tuxedo cat. Beautiful shimmery, black with just enough white. What does she say? Amber wisely seldom, almost never, says anything. Would that I could learn from her. … Continue reading
CLEAN THE CAT’S BOX, STUPID
There are important decisions to make. World shaking decisions, I must decide what to wear, where to go, when to——whom to——. Clean the cat’s box, Stupid Things to do, places to go. The societal demands on my schedule are stupendous. … Continue reading
MEMORIAM KRISTINE GODBEY
The Escapees flag at Timber Valley Park was dipped to half-staff on Friday, May 17 as members mourned the passing of Kristine Godbey. Kristine was an active, caring, helpful member of Timber Valley since Nov. 18, 2015 and will be … Continue reading
FORTY SHADES OF GREEN
There’s a song extolling Ireland’s “forty shades of green” by Johnnie Cash. Look around us; doesn’t it seems like we have forty shades of green or more? Look very closely at the hillsides surrounding us. The grassy hills are a … Continue reading
OPEN OTHER END
The half-pint carton of milk reposed innocently on the kitchen counter. Aha! Just enough for my breakfast smoothie. I grabbed it up, pushed, pulled, pried, cussed
