Water Project Update – February 1

From Gene Fisher…

We regret having the water turned off to the entire Park. We know it is inconvenient for people. We try to shut off the entire Park as infrequently a possible and for as short a period as we can.

On Monday, plans to replace the water services on Dogwood were cancelled because the company responsible to locate the Parks Communications cable failed to adequately locate and mark them as is required prior to excavation.

Rather than lose two days of work, I directed our contractor to begin work on western Hilltop, a street where the unities had been located and marked. Western Hilltop is also the only area in the Park south of State Canyon in which all of the control valves needed to isolate the water supply have not been located.

West Hilltop will probably be completed next week, then we will move to Dogwood.

New Years Day Hike a Great Success

Bob Feiler (lot 143) reports…

We had a great day for a hike on the first of January and 16 of us enjoyed a walk on Happy Hill trail. Phase 2 is open and plans are to have Phase 3 completed by mid July. A big thanks goes out to everyone who came out, for Joan who put out flyers, to Bob Grant for putting out gravel and to Mary for letting me play in the dirt building trail.

From the Family of Nusha De Young…

Rick De Young and the family of Timber Valley resident Nusha De Young wish to express their gratitude to all the residents who were able to attend her memorial service in the Timber Valley club house last Friday afternoon. Thanks are also extended to those folks who baked and brought food and made the punch that was offered. It was truly incredible to see approximately 90 people attend the memorial service and have more than enough refreshments, all with less than two days notice!

Pastor Stewart Fowler, soloist Betsii Outland, pianist Helen Schrader and friend Becky Holm all made the memorial service special to all who attended and we thank them for their tributes to Nusha.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Umpqua Valley Funeral Directors of Roseburg, Oregon and burial will occur with a short service at the Roseburg National Cemetery on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Stewart Fowler will conduct that service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests those who wish to do so make donations, in Mabel De Young’s name, to the Roseburg Community Cancer Center or to the American Cancer Society.
