February 9, 2021 Anniversary Post

Just over a year ago, a good friend asked if I would write a story for the TV Log.
I declined because, as I told her, I am not a writer. I don’t have the discipline or background to be a writer. The only thing I ever had published was a two-word review of Rita’s Dyson vacuum cleaner. “ It sucks “. Besides, it’s too hard and I’m lazy. She persisted, so I said I would give it a shot. ONE TIME ONLY!!! Well, I’m still lazy, I still lack discipline, and it’s harder than I thought. Much harder. It’s also addictive. So here we are.

As this is post number 34, I reflect on the number of hours mulling possible storylines and finding nothing. Waking up at three am with ideas churning through
my head. Well, actually, that’s not the main reason for my wake-up call. A lot of time has been spent staring at the wall, waiting for one of those ideas to gel.
Sometimes a funny or quirky thought would alight and flow from pen to paper to
iPad to you.

Sometimes when memories of our adventures appear on the wall, it’s painful. The wall doesn’t discriminate between joyful and painful memories. There have been times when trying to make you laugh, puts tears in my eyes. Sometimes finding those memories of our happy times creates a loneliness that is hard to bear.

But the idea of sharing these things with you seems to create a bond that overpowers all other emotions. Sharing with you has kept our history alive.
I have tried to give you a laugh, bring a smile, or somehow touch your lives. Hopefully, at the very least, entertained you.

So, let’s all get ready for a new year. Some ideas are already forming on the wall. Getting ready to penetrate the gray matter. Stay tuned for another barrage
of ; serious to silly, pigs to philosophy, Dr. Seuss to Dylan.

Hang on, and enjoy the ride.
