At this year’s annual meeting, Mike & Dick unleashed a revolutionary concept — a signup sheet for members who don’t want to be on any committee but might be willing to help out occasionally, ideally during a rare cosmic alignment when free time, motivation, and caffeine all peak simultaneously.
The idea was met with shock, awe, and the kind of enthusiasm usually reserved for free donuts. We cobbled the sheet together with about five minutes left in the meeting — because nothing inspires productivity like a ticking clock and the promise of adjournment.
Despite the time crunch, several brave souls rushed forward to sign up, pens blazing, as if volunteering for light, occasional help were an Olympic sport. Many more would have joined in too, had we offered even one additional minute… or perhaps a marching band, dramatic spotlight, or a raffle for a year’s supply of potato salad.
Nevertheless, the message was clear: People love helping — as long as it doesn’t involve being trapped in a committee meeting.
The sheet is in the mail room & Office. Feel free to join, no meetings!

A yerars supply of potato salad will only happen if a non committee member can give Denis in the newly remodeling of the kitchen
A perfect example of this is the team of 3 people that monitor and track the parks water use. It’s a team, not a Committee. There are many, many more tasks like this that keep the park running well, but are not Committees. Great idea..very glad to see all these efforts recognized!
