Open Board Meeting “Streaming” Test

The communications committee has been experimenting with “streaming” our Open Board Meetings.  This means, if you have the link, you can watch the meeting in near real-time on your computer or smartphone.  In addition, the video is also available for replay later.

If you’d like to view today’s board meeting, go to the Member’s Only Page and look for the link to the meeting.  It’s near the top.  We apologize for the audio portion of the recording, which is NOT great.  You’ll have to turn up the volume to hear it properly. This project is still a work in process and we’re working to improve.

However, we’d like to hear from you.  What do you think about this?  Will you use it? How was the quality?  This particular video is about 1.5 hours — so grab some popcorn and enjoy.

I would have certainly taken advantage of this, had I known.
The Board Mtg. was at 9:00 a.m. Thursday. I received this notice
    Thursday at 1:41.

Peggy, the reason for this notice is to allow members to see the video and comment on the quality and the usefulness of the effort. Prior to the meeting, we were unsure how well this would work and didn’t want members getting frustrated if it wasn’t any good. Remember, it’s a test. The next step may very well be that we invite members to view it live. The link on the member’s only page still works to view the recording of the meeting. I’d like to know what you think.

p.s. I already know the audio is poor. However, any comment other than that is appreciated.

I love this. We were able to watch the meetings at Park Sierra when we were out of the park. Glad we have it now at TV.

I held my small lap top right up to my ear and was able to follow along with the audio of this meeting pretty well. I will be using this more often and thank you for making this possible.

I love this! We’re traveling now but we’ll definitely watch it when we get to AZ. It’s always frustrating to be gone in the winter and feel so out of touch. Thanks for doing this.
