The Pavement Slurry Seal Project is essentially done. The Park wants to thank all of those who assisted with traffic control, project management, handling mail and packages, and any other task that was so instrumental in the efficient and quick completion of this big project. So, a HUGE Thank You to all of you who helped out.
And, really, no less important is the response from our members and renters who were inconvenienced by the project. Thank You for your patience and understanding. It may have been rough for a little while, but we all got through it. And we can all look forward to years of extended life for our roads.
And then there’s a few suggestions for the next few weeks:
- Now that our roads have been slurry sealed, please be gentle on this new road surface. Try to avoid turning your steering wheel while sitting still. This can cause damage to the still curing surface, especially on hot days.
- The surface appears rough at first, but over time, passing traffic will begin to compact the surface into a smoother and more durable roadway. It would help if you could make it a point, when possible, to drive slightly left or right of the common track of most vehicles. This will aid in smoothing the entire surface of the road and not just the normal tracks most people use.
- The company that did the slurry sealing will be back in the park next week for touch up, clean up, and assuring their job is up to their standards. So don’t be surprised if you see them in here again. And if you do see them, perhaps a word of thanks would be in order.
Thank you so much Everyone.
