About Us
The Timber Valley SKP RV Park is a 206 unit 55+ RV Co-op affiliated with the Escapees RV Club. Each member of the co-op holds a lifetime lease on a large RV lot. When a member is not in the park, that lot can be put into the rental pool so that visiting Escapees members may rent an available lot by the day, week, or month.Search This Website

Rows and Flows of Angel Hair
By Fred Prout Stuff! We’ll call it that. But you’ll understand there is a more descriptive word. It’s the nasty stuff that gets in our head, from time to time, and turns a bright, sunny day cloudy. It makes us … Continue reading
Fourth of July, Ratcheds By The Sea
What a great Fourth of July weekend at Ratcheds By The Sea. The weather was perfect. Thirty degrees cooler than inland, and a gentle breeze wafted in from the ocean. The festivities were nonstop starting Friday morning. By the time … Continue reading
The Magic Lamp
I just read a scientific survey. It was published by Fox News. So you know it’s accurate and unbiased. The scientists concluded that 99.6% of the English-speaking population of The United States of America do not understand the concept of … Continue reading
Vertigo or Squirrel Droppings or A Tale of Two Nurses
By Fred Prout My body is revolting. WAIT, WHAT? Alexa, erase that and start over. A follow up to the vividly remembered two weeks without beer. I hope I didn’t give the impression I drink too much. Two possibly three … Continue reading
Rabinowitz’s Pork Roll
By Fred Prout I like beer. Actually, I love beer. I especially love the taste of beer. Bock, Porter, Stout. The thick, dark, stand up a spoon in it, beer. Or, a really hoppy ale. Taste is everything. I know … Continue reading
A Slippery Slope?
By Fred Prout Well, it finally happened this morning. Despite fighting tooth and nail to prevent it for many years, and with every fiber of my being, it happened. Now bear in mind that every terrible event in our lives … Continue reading
Brain Fa*ts
First of all, my apologies. I know this is not my best work. Last month I had another mini stroke.
Ratcheds Redux
by Fred Prout Now that the weather is getting a bit toasty inland, tourists are visiting en masse. Rental houses and motels are chock full of visitors. Local merchants are opening extra hours to accommodate them. Great to see. Now … Continue reading
Ratcheds By The Sea
by Fred Prout The first town meeting of the new year was a doozy. As soon as Mayor, and town doc, Ben Dover opened the meeting, police chief, Patrick Muldoon and officer Gunther Toody reported on a disturbance at The … Continue reading
What Goes Around
By Fred Prout Some memories stay with you forever. Some fade away, half forgotten, until something pokes them with a stick to waken them. Like a dormant hornet’s nest. Ready to start buzzing and attacking your brain. Insisting on getting … Continue reading
Guest Writer In The Sty
Or, Perfect Pen Pals. Or, The Promised Pigs. Interpreted by Fred Prout I am Paulina Porkiskova. I am a pig. Sometimes people use that word in a negative way. I am a proud pig. Since I can’t use a pencil, … Continue reading
February 9, 2021 Anniversary Post
Just over a year ago, a good friend asked if I would write a story for the TV Log. I declined because, as I told her, I am not a writer. I don’t have the discipline or background to be … Continue reading
Road Maps and Side View Mirrors
Remember road maps? Those giant pieces of paper that re-folded so neatly? They showed the roads ahead leading from hither to yon.You could stop in any gas station and pick one up for the state you were in. All while … Continue reading
A Fantasy
Use your imagination. Midnight. Full Moon. The barnyards for miles around are slowly emptying. The word has been passed for weeks. Tonight is the much awaited performance of the annual barnyard ballet. This year, Paulina Porkiskova will be the Prima … Continue reading
Twenty Four Carrot Christmas
One of our best RV experiences was volunteering in a membership park in Lake Havasu Arizona. We got to run parties, help with entertainment, and do a lot of really fun stuff. Our involvement with this has resulted in many … Continue reading
Free Tax Advice
To put things in context, the following took place shortly before my recent re-connection surgery. For those of you who are interested, it went well and things are working out ok . And often. And after six months, I can … Continue reading
A Ticket To Ride II
by Fred Prout The train slows and stops. I get off, along with a few other passengers. The ones with which I have had the strongest connections. A smaller train sits waiting to take us in a different direction. We … Continue reading
A Ticket to Ride
by Fred Prout You find yourself riding on a train. No ticket in hand. But that’s okay, because no one asks where you are going. Which is a good thing. Because you are not sure yourself. Periodically the train pulls … Continue reading
The Perfect Stick
by Fred Prout For some of you, this may be another in a long line of dog/ cat/ bunny/ parakeet etc. stories. For many of you, it may be an allegory. Please let me know if it works. For those … Continue reading
“A Hard, Hard Rain”
by Fred Prout Bob Dylan was a prolific songwriter. He was a major influence on the folk music scene. And maybe on some of our lives. The fact that he really couldn’t sing does not diminish his work. If you … Continue reading
