About Us
The Timber Valley SKP RV Park is a 206 unit 55+ RV Co-op affiliated with the Escapees RV Club. Each member of the co-op holds a lifetime lease on a large RV lot. When a member is not in the park, that lot can be put into the rental pool so that visiting Escapees members may rent an available lot by the day, week, or month.Search This Website

Guest Writer In The Sty
Or, Perfect Pen Pals. Or, The Promised Pigs. Interpreted by Fred Prout I am Paulina Porkiskova. I am a pig. Sometimes people use that word in a negative way. I am a proud pig. Since I can’t use a pencil, … Continue reading
Amber, I’m Sorry
By Jackie Deal “There is no joy in Mudville, mighty Casey (Jackie) has struck out.” (Or something like that.) No “Hip, Hip, Hooray.” No “Whoopi!” Maybe just a “Whoo”. You see, I‘ve just had my six week check-up after total … Continue reading
February 9, 2021 Anniversary Post
Just over a year ago, a good friend asked if I would write a story for the TV Log. I declined because, as I told her, I am not a writer. I don’t have the discipline or background to be … Continue reading

A Fantasy
Use your imagination. Midnight. Full Moon. The barnyards for miles around are slowly emptying. The word has been passed for weeks. Tonight is the much awaited performance of the annual barnyard ballet. This year, Paulina Porkiskova will be the Prima … Continue reading
EVERYBODY NEEDS A SCRATCHING POST
By Jackie Deal Amber is lost! Disappeared! Not to be found. I’ve looked everywhere. High. Low. Her favorite hidey hole. No Amber. The water heater repairman-prone across the kitchen floor, head under the sink- mumbles “I didn’t let the cat … Continue reading
Grief
It seems like the whole world resonates with the sound and feel of grieving. It has been nearly two years since the beginning of the “great pandemic” and we are still losing loved ones at an alarming rate. Add to … Continue reading
Free Tax Advice
To put things in context, the following took place shortly before my recent re-connection surgery. For those of you who are interested, it went well and things are working out ok . And often. And after six months, I can … Continue reading
A Ticket To Ride II
by Fred Prout The train slows and stops. I get off, along with a few other passengers. The ones with which I have had the strongest connections. A smaller train sits waiting to take us in a different direction. We … Continue reading
There’s Gonna Be Some Changes Made
by Jackie Deal Yeah, I’ve already started some of those changes. I’ve moved the kitty’s litter box! What? you ask. Why? Well, it’s like this: I have arthritis in both hips! Bending over, reaching around the foot of the bed … Continue reading
A Ticket to Ride
by Fred Prout You find yourself riding on a train. No ticket in hand. But that’s okay, because no one asks where you are going. Which is a good thing. Because you are not sure yourself. Periodically the train pulls … Continue reading
THE WISH
by Ruby Bonham The following is a song written, copyrighted, and recorded by Cookie Shannon of the Little Sisters. Cookie and her sister Margaret have performed here at Timber Valley along with our park musicians. Cookie gave me permission to … Continue reading
WHY
by Ruby Bonham Sometimes I feel like a four-year-old again with my endless “whys”. Most of them are unanswered but I hold out hope that one day I will understand. As a young girl, I didn’t pray for things, instead, … Continue reading
“A Hard, Hard Rain”
by Fred Prout Bob Dylan was a prolific songwriter. He was a major influence on the folk music scene. And maybe on some of our lives. The fact that he really couldn’t sing does not diminish his work. If you … Continue reading
The Ugly Orange Mug
by Fred Prout I hope everyone involved in this story is reading it. Well, actually, I hope everyone is reading it. I am looking at what is, arguably, the ugliest mug around. No, I’m not looking in the mirror. I’m … Continue reading
Just a Minute
A famous philosopher, L. Peter Berra, once said, ” When you get to a fork in the road, take it. ” Rita and I followed that dictum for most of our lives together. Invariably, we chose well. Each fork leads … Continue reading
OTHER
by Jackie Deal We have anOTHER cat in our house. “Other”. That’s the cat’s name that lives in the bedroom behind the mirrored closet doors! I realize that’s what Amber’s been trying to tell me for some time. Amber watches … Continue reading
Demons
I am beset by demons. I don’t know why, but they are increasing their devilish attacks on me with a vengeance. They started slowly a few years ago, when, I guess, they acquired an effigy doll with my name on … Continue reading

Three Coins on the Dresser
by Fred Prout Well, August 25th rolled around, and my insides are still not put back together. Bummer! As I was walking Kelly that morning, a nurse crossed the street in front of me. “Good morning, rough night?“ “Yes“. As … Continue reading
Another Bear Story
By Ruby Bonham Seeing the notices of our semi-resident black bear in the park has brought back a lot of memories. Thus these recollections. My ex was with a friend when he bought two baby black bears. He said he … Continue reading
