Red Flag Warning for Wednesday – Fire Danger Increasing to Extreme

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for our area from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5.

A Red Flag Warning means weather conditions, including low humidity, gusty winds, and dry vegetation, can cause any fire that starts to spread rapidly. It does not mean there is currently a wildfire.

The Douglas Forest Protective Association (DFPA) has also announced that the public fire danger level will increase from HIGH to EXTREME effective 12:01 p.m. Tuesday, August 4.

Please use extra caution, follow all current fire restrictions, and avoid activities that could create sparks or flames.

A Timber Valley text alert will be sent tomorrow as a reminder.
