Water, Water, Water

Brought to you by your Emergency Preparedness Committee

It’s pretty important. RV’s have an important benefit over a “house”, and that benefit is a built in fresh water tank. In a “water off, or “do not use” emergency, this tank should provide you with water to shower and flush the toilet.

Here are a few thoughts:

  • Is your water tank full? Does your water pump work?
  • When was the last time your water tank was drained and filled? This should be done periodically. There are many articles available on how to “sanitize” this tank (specific instructions are beyond the scope of this article)
  • Using your fresh water tank for drinking is a personal choice and based on your RV’s
    setup and sanitation routine.
  • Do you have drinking water stored? See picture for one method.
