There is no better way to stay prepared for a major emergency than meeting your neighbors. Everyone brings something to the “party” be it skills, tools, help, or even getting to know our limits, and where we may need help. In our park we have people that have limited vision, cannot walk far, cannot drive, and several rely on community help coming into the park.
One of the best things you can do is be active and help with the Block Coordinators on your street. This is a system set up by your Emergency Preparedness Committee to help us in an Emergency. Buy a simple walkie talkie (FRS) radio. These are the exact same radios many RV’s always use…you may already have them. Tune it to the master park channel 6, and listen in to the radio check every Monday at 4pm.
As of this writing Costco has a pair of these radios on sale.
Get to know your neighbors!
