In Memoriam, Wayne Roberson

Wayne and Donna moved into Timber Valley in 2011 after being on the waiting list for six years. Wayne passed away on April 6, 2022, after a long battle with cancer. Wayne was born on August 21, 1941, in El Paso, Texas when his parents were on the way to California. He grew up in Richmond, California, and joined the Navy after high school. He worked on hospital equipment in several places including Eureka, Tahoe, and Placerville.

Donna and Wayne married in 1966 and were married for 53 years. They were enthusiastic sprint car race fans and traveled to many races often staying in their RVs. They started RVing in 1968 and Donna says,” we started little and went to bigger and bigger” RVs. Until about 5 years ago they “snowbirded” to Arizona.

Wayne was an active participant in park activities. His claim to fame is surviving a tip-over of the large lawnmower he was using. Donna describes walking up the hill to the site and realizing it was her husband under the mower. He was rescued unhurt except for a small scraped patch of hair which grew back in white. Wayne helped rebuild sheds and sprayed weeds among other things.

Wayne had been fighting cancer since 1977 and recently had other medical problems.
He is survived by his wife Donna and son Donald.

  1. Karen Ratcliff says:

We are sorry to hear about Wayne. We will miss his cheerful hellos and chats as he sat on their front porch. Prayers and hugs for Donna as she walks through these difficult days.
