A good friend recently made a very important life change. Twelve miles as the crow flies. A quantum leap to a totally different life style. As an introduction to her new environs she wrote a piece about turning a new page in her life. That got me thinking. Every day we turn a new page in our lives. REMEMBER, I WILL NOT BE ON ANYONE’S LOT. I will be hiding inside or outside the Clubhouse, Mailroom, or Snoopy’s Meadow. (Snoopy’s only in the Spring, Summer, and Fall Season)

When you find me, bring me to, Suzi Rupert, Lot 200.

You will get your photo taken with me and get your finder’s reward, a $15.00 gift certificate to Dairy Queen. Your photo will be published in the TV Log/Website.

A Reminder to all Timber Valley Members and Renters

In the past, we’ve experienced unidentified people wandering through the Park at night. We’d like to remind all members to make sure your vehicles, RVs, and stored trailers are adequately locked and secured at all times.

While we do live in a very safe environment, our little community tucked into the hills of the Umpqua Valley should be vigilant and take common-sense precautions to keep it that way.

Chili Cook-Off

Do you like chili? I like chili. Do you make the best chili in 3 states? If you make good chili, sweet, white, traditional, spicey, mild or whatever, bring a pot to share with everyone and see how yours stacks up to others.

The Sutherlin Fire Department will happily come and be the official tasting judges. You can buy sample bowls 3/$1 or a full-size bowl for $3. There will also be a 50/50 raffle.

If this sounds fun to you, join us at the Jack’s & Jills meeting Monday 3/17 for more
information and how you can help out. We need volunteers to help with set-up,
clean-up and collecting money.

The Garden Group welcomes you to join us in the Timber Valley Garden for the 2025 season. There are raised gardens available to both members and renters, for an $80 rental fee for the season.

Besides the delicious, organic vegetables (and blueberries), we welcome you to join in the laughter and beautiful sunsets that we all enjoy.

One of the many special features of our garden is how we support each other. If you are traveling, or are new to gardening, there is always someone to help you.

Meetings Moved to 10:00AM

Effective in March 2025, the Agenda Workshop (the second Thursday of each month) and the Board Meeting (the third Thursday of each month) will now begin at 10:00AM. Please mark your calendars accordingly.

Therefore, the Agenda Workshop this month, Thursday, March 13, and the Board Meeting, Thursday, March 20, as well as all future Agenda Workshops and Board Meetings will begin at 10:00AM.

I hope this change will give more members the opportunity to attend these meetings.

TURN THE PAGE

It’s a new chapter. Turn the page. Our lives are made up of stages or phases which we accept gracefully or perhaps not at all. I think “pages in a book” may be a better way of putting it.

I’ve decided it was time for me to open a new chapter. I’m perfectly healthy, Thank you. Can fend for myself. But I’ve grown tired of the cooking, cleaning, fixing routine. It’s time while I’m in good enough shape to enjoy what Independent Living offers, to plunge in, start a new chapter. Yes, I intend to plunge in and come up blowing bubbles.

I don’t have to shop, cook, clean-up and I still get to enjoy three meals a day. A housekeeper too? Oh, Joy.

“They” say, (the omnipotent they): but you lose freedom. Lose independence, people wither up and die after they enter “one of Those places”.

I can only say I never imagined withering up could feel so good! The page has been turned.
