Saturday:

Coffee and Rolls

On almost every Saturday morning throughout the year, a dedicated group of early bird Timber Valley residents get together in the Timber Valley clubhouse to meet and greet both old and new friends, enjoy a cup or two of coffee and, at 9 a.m. sharp to buy donuts or rolls that a volunteer has brought in for resale. They donate a dollar for each donut or roll and there is usually a round of self-introductions.

One of our Park’s pioneers, Norm Sherman, is the unofficial emcee of the group and leads the effort to arrange tables to make sure all who attend have a chance to get acquainted and visit with anyone they wish.

Several members, led by Veanna and Layton Fletcher, during the summer, collect the dollar donations, then reimburse the volunteer who bought the donuts.  Periodically they reimburse Jacks & Jills for the coffee and supplies used and the rest of the money is donated to a charity, usually the Sutherlin-Oakland Emergency Food Pantry.

All SKP park members, as well as guests, are sincerely invited to participate in this friendly, informal weekly gathering.

Bocce Ball

Come join the fun at Snoopy’s Meadow. 3pm

For a multi-player game, start with 4 large balls per player, plus a small ball (pallino). The first player throws out the pallino, and then rolls a ball, trying to get close to the pallino. The second player rolls balls one at a time until one of their balls is the closest to the pallino. The next player does the same. Play then continues to the first player. The player whose ball is closest to the pallino gets a point for each ball that’s closer than the other player’s closest ball. That player gets to start the next round. The first player to 16 points wins.
