The Passing of a Founding Member
Cheryle L. Golgert, Lot #76
Died: 7-20-21 Age: 79

Cheryle Golgert was born and raised in Twin Falls, ID. She worked for Ore-Ida before moving to Roseburg to begin a Nursing career from 1967-1993 at the VA Hospital in Roseburg.

Cheryle enjoyed many new adventures with her move to Oregon; camping in her VW camper van at the beach during summertime and snow skiing in the winter around the Diamond Lake area.

In 1985, Cheryle joined a group of others from a Singles Club for a bus for a trip to Reno, NV. There she sat next to a dapper gentleman who played bingo with her the whole trip. That dapper gentleman was Glen Golgert. While on the bus, they shared stories, laughter and their first kiss. In 1987, Cheryle and Glen were married in Camas Valley and were married for 35 years.

Cheryle and Glen arrived at the SKP park when “it was just a mud hole” and helped build it into what we call home today. They got their space in the park in 1990 by drawing numbers from a drum and remain in the same space today. Cheryl was active in the Sewing Group and the Sutherlin Library. Books were one of her loves, as were flowers, the Going To The Sun Hwy and her beloved Siberian Husky, Sheba and later, her dachshund, Winston.

Cheryle and Glen started out in the park with a 5th wheel trailer that they later traded for a Pace Arrow to travel the country. They traveled often, completing a 6,000 mi trip, enjoying metal detecting, dredging for gold and site seeing. They bought a Wilderness Park Model as their permanent home on Lot 76.

Cheryle was interred at Tenmile Cemetery on 28 August 2021 at 10:00am. John Wheeler, a long time friend and Minister gave blessings at the private ceremony.

Cheryle is survived by her Husband Glen, Sp 76 and a daughter Colleen of Roseburg.
