Rita Prout… Long-Time Member

The Timber Valley Community was deeply saddened by the recent death of Rita Prout, a well-known member.  Rita and her husband Fred moved into Timber Valley in 2009. Among the many ways she volunteered, she served on the Jacks and Jills Library Committee as Chairperson for many years. She was a generally happy spirit that uplifted everyone she met. Fred and Rita left Timber Valley in October 2019, moving to Linus Oaks Retirement Living in Roseburg. Fred and their dog, Kelly, still reside in Roseburg.

The members of Timber Valley extend our condolences to Fred and the family. Please contribute any stories or memories you have of Rita in the comments below.

A more extensive Memorial article about Rita is being planned and will be on this website shortly.

Rita was one of a kind… and I mean that in the best way. I’ll fondly remember her for as long as I live.

Rita, and Fred, welcomed us into this part and we became good friends. I could always get a nice hug. She was a music major and knew the words to nearly every song at the sing-a-longs. When Helen played My Grandfather’s Clock, I was amazed that Rita knew the words to all the verses! I will miss her.

She touched my life in many, many ways. She will be missed. Love to Fred.

Fred and Rita lived across the street from us and were great friends. We enjoyed visiting with them and having our Wine dates every once in awhile. We have missed them since they moved and we wished we could have one more date with them. We loved both of them,
