It was a busy meeting. After taking care of the usual parliamentary procedure and gobbling up delicious chocolate birthday cake J&J got busy planning the months activities. Starting with a Trim the Tree and Cookie bake off on Dec 1, at 2pm. This is a fund raiser so bring some quarters (the laundry can wait) because you will be able to sample cookies @50 cents a cookie, then vote for your favorite. There will be a silent auction, 50/50 and more.
There will be a Christmas dinner 5 at pm & $5 on Christmas Day. Watch the poster for details. Sign up as usual. Volunteer to help the cooking group with this task.
Every year we send trays of goodies to the city workers. This year we have broaden it a bit to include heathy choices of fruits and nuts etc. Goodies have to be in clubhouse by 9am Dec 18. They will then be divided and packaged and delivered to the police, fire dept. and Dial A Ride. The city workers look forward to the treats and have been known to steal from each other. Don’t let them turn to crime. Let’s load those trays.
Toy drive toys must be in clubhouse by 1pm Dec 13. Bring your unwrapped gifts and place them under the tree. Gifts are needed for every age from infant to teenager. The fireman in charge of picking them up this year has not been involved with this before. He is in for a surprise if TV comes through like they usually do.
It is time to wear that Christmas Sweater. The TV member gift exchange has been set for 12/20/18 at 4 pm. To take part in the gift exchange bring a wrapped gift of approximately $10 value. If it is gender specific, mark it so. Bring some snacks to share. Wear your ugliest, oooops, I mean, most festive sweater, and join the fun.
There will be no December Craft class.
Nothing is planned for New Years.
