Once again, the park will celebrate the July 4th with a golf cart parade, potluck picnic and games.
Parade: Decorated golf cart and started gathering in front of the park office flag pole around 9:30 a.m. The parade kicked off at 10 a.m., with organizer Helaine Hepworth leading the procession throughout the park. (Last year nearly 20 carts and 4 bicycles … including two clowns … rolled around tossing candy to watchers along the way.)
Potluck picnic and games began at 1 p.m. in Snoopy’s Meadow. Folks will gather in the meadow under shade trees and the parks two new awnings to enjoy a picnic, conversation and games.
Everyone is invited … Bring your own meat to BBQ yourself or have one of the Timber Valley Cooking Group’s grill masters helped BBQ it for you. Also bring your favorite summer potluck side dish to share with their fellow Americans, along with your own folding chair, table setting and drink.
Afternoon games included bocce ball, horseshoes, ladder golf and other non-contact sports.
After the picnic, lingered a little longer to help with cleanup.
