Most people love to tell stories about their lives and the “Good old times.” Well, did you know it can also make you stronger and more resilient?
Come hear Adam Jones, a social worker with Compass Behavioral Health, share information about how retelling our life stories can make us stronger. He will be with us on Friday, March 9, at 3 p.m.
Adam has a Master of Social Work degree and is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor I (CADCI). He has had a wide array of experience including working in homeless shelters, assisted living facilities, memory care facilities, and hospice agencies.
Adam is a strong proponent of trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, and person-centered care with a focus on ensuring individuals maintain their autonomy. His background in mental health, in conjunction with his curiosity understanding and navigating systems, makes him an asset in understanding and addressing older adult behavioral health needs throughout Douglas County.
Bring along a potluck snacks to share with friends and neighbors.
