Everyone should be aware of the record heat-wave heading our way this week. Temperatures are predicted to peak between Tuesday and Thursday at 110 degrees or higher. Besides the normal precautions of making sure you have enough water and a working air conditioner, it might be a good idea to have a “back-up” plan in the event of a power outage… a place to go if it becomes necessary. And if you have less-mobile neighbors, check in on them to make sure they’re OK… especially if we have a power outage. Also, several people in the park don’t have air conditioning… just fans.
Whenever the heat rises to extreme levels, the fire danger rises too. Keep yourself attuned to your surroundings and be prepared to take action if the situation calls for it. And please also remember that we’re sharing the electric power in this park, so no more than ONE AIR CONDITIONER running at a time.
